Benzoyl Peroxide is sold both over the counter (Noxzema, Clearasil) and by prescription. It is applied directly to the skin and comes in many forms including cleansing bars and facial masks.
It is absorbed through the skin and for that reason, many doctors believe it should not be used by pregnant woman. Some people may also be allergic to this medication, making a bad problem even worse. However, in most cases, patients who use this medication show improvement when it is applied daily.
